Head of the Research Unit in Periodontology and Periodontal Medicine and Director of the full-time Master Program in Periodontology at the University of Florence, Florence, Italy. Active member and treasurer of the Italian Society of Periodontology (SIdP). Winner of some international awards in Periodontology, including the H. Goldman prize from SIdP, the Jaccard prize by the European Federation of Periodontology and R. Earl Robinson Periodontal Regeneration Award by the American Academy of Periodontology.  Author of several original publications and referee for the main scientific journals in the field of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
