Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Bäumer graduated in dentistry and completed her doctoral thesis at the University of Heidelberg in 2007. This was followed by post graduated education at the department of Periodontology, University of Heidelberg between 2007 and 2011, complemented by a Master of Science in Periodontology and Implant Therapy (DGParo and Dresden International University). In 2012, she was appointed Specialist for Periodontics.

She has been an Assistant Professor at the Department of Periodontology, University of Heidelberg, since 2011. In 2012 she began working in her own private practice (Dr. Gerd Körner & Dr. Amelie Bäumer-König) in Bielefeld, Germany. In 2015, she achieved Habilitation (Venia Legendi) at the University of Heidelberg. And she was a Visiting Specialist for Periodontics in Zürich, Switzerland between 2015 and 2016.

Dr. Bäumer has published several national and international articles in peer-reviewed journals (main topics: aggressive periodontitis, long-term results of teeth and implants) and she is a reviewer for numerous international dental journals. She was invited as an expert to the ‘XI. European Workshop on Periodontology’ (La Granja, Spain) and to the ‘Consensus Conference’ (Athens, Greece) of the European Federation (EFP) in 2014. She has also won a number of research awards (among others the MILLER Prize in 2016).
